INSTRUCTIONS

Type 201 SA

(For Non UL and UL Listed Fixtures)

READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE INSTALLING

CAUTION: Type 201 SA luminaire is designed for

outdoor lighting and should not be used in areas of

limited ventilation, or in high ambient temperature

enclosures.

STEP 1 (FOR NON UL LISTED FIXTURES)

Installation of mounting arm to pole

Type 201 SA luminaire, unit pack, is designed for mounting

on a round wood pole. (See above illustration for identifica-

tion and location of parts.) The mounting arm should first

be mounted to pole. A clearance hole for a 5/8-inch

diameter bolt must be drilled through pole. The 10-inch

through bolt should be inserted through clearance hole and

2-inch square washer and nut screwed loosely onto opposite

end of through bolt. The pole plate on mounting arm should

be placed over square head of through bolt so that square

head is engaged by two indented tabs on pole plate.

STEP 1 (TYPE 201 SA CONDUIT MOUNTING)

(FOR UL LISTED FIXTURES)

Installation of mounting arm to pole

NOTE: This fixture is intended to be conduit con-

nected to a properly installed and properly grounded

weatherproof junction box (not provided). All conduit

connectors, conduit and junction boxes (not pro-

vided) should be UL listed suitable for wet locations.

Attach two-piece mounting brackets to extension arm by

interlocking bracket and securing with ¼ -20 carriage bolt

and ¼ -20 hex nut provided. Mounting bracket should be

secure leaving approximately one inch of extension arm

protruding from bottom of bracket as shown. Place extension

arm assembly onto desired mounting surface and mark four

hole locations required mounting. Remove arm assembly

and drill four marked locations for ease of mounting. Mount

extension arm assembly using hex head lag bolts provided.

Tighten bolts securely before proceeding.

The leads from hood should first be inserted through

outboard end of the mounting arm and brought out through

inboard end adjacent to the pole plate.

(For Non UL fixtures, it is recommended a drip loop be

formed where leads exit mounting arm as indicated in above

drawing.)

ILLUSTRATION A

Nut should be tightened down so that mounting arm is

securely attached to pole. Lag bolts should be inserted into

outside lower holes of mounting arm pole plate. Hammer lag

bolts in to within approximately 1” of head, then tighten

down with wrench.
